For the second time in less than a week, Davis Jones and the Nipawin Hawks shutout the Melville Millionaires.
Jones stopped all 25 shots sent his way, while Jeff Datoff and Tad Kozun (EN) did the scoring in a 2-0 win, the Hawks' fourth consecutive triumph.
The Millionaires, who only recently held the best record in the SJHL, have now dropped 6 of their last 7, and have scored just 9 times in their past 6 games.
Alex Wakaluk stopped 23/24 shots in Tuesday's loss.
Michael Salmon (pictured) turned in a 21-save shutout, his first in the SJHL, as the Notre Dame Hounds racked up yet another win, 3-0 on home ice against Weyburn.
The Hounds out-shot the Wings 39-21, and are now 8-0-1 in their last 9 games, and back into a first place tie in the Sherwood with Yorkton.
Catlin Foley (1g-1a), Sam Aulie and Cory Anderson (EN) did the scoring. J-P Boucher stopped 36/38 shots for the Wings.
Brandon Wildung was 15 minutes shy of making it a three shutout evening. The Flin Flon Bombers' netminder made 25/26 saves, as his club extended their lead to 7 points at the top of the North Conference, with a 4-1 win over La Ronge.
Top rookie point-getter Brett Boehm added three more to his totals, with a goal and a pair of assists, and now has 15g-12a-27p in 19 games. Cam Blair, Brett Penner and Dillan McCombie (EN) rounded out the scoring, while Brennan Ritchie notched a third period powerplay marker for the Ice Wolves.
Myles Hovdebo kept his team in it, making 36/39 saves for La Ronge.
Being that there was an empty-netter in all three games on Tuesday, the 6 goalies in action combined to allow just 7 goals on 173 shots (discounting empty-netters). Jones (0), Salmon (0), Wildung (1), Wakaluk (1), Boucher (2), Hovdebo (3). That's a combined save percentage of .960!
