Wings & Terriers Prevail After Christmas Break

Defenseman Chase Norrish exploded for three goals, including the overtime winner, as the Yorkton Terriers edged the Melville Millionaires 5-4 (OT).

Austin Bourhis and Patrick Martens scored the others for the Terriers, who doubled the Millionaires on the shot clock, by a 46-23 margin.

Allen Kilback led the Millionaires on Sunday, with two goals and an assist.  Brennan Ritchie and Daniel Orsborn also scored, and Christian Magnus added a pair of helpers.

All five meetings between Yorkton and Melville have been decided by a goal, and four of those have gone to overtime or a shootout.  The Terriers have the upper hand, though, going 4-0-0-1 so far.  Melville's 1-1-1-2.  They'll close out their season series New Years Day in Melville.

Another Sherwood rivalry was renewed on Sunday, as the Weyburn Red Wings picked up a 4-1 win over Estevan at Spectra Place.

J-P Boucher made 24/25 saves in the win, while the goals came from Miguel Pereira, Robert Wilkinson, Josh Lees and Adam Pulliam.

Tyler Paslawski replied for the Bruins with a first period marker.

The Wings and Bruins also meet again on New Year's Day, this time in Weyburn.

Melfort and Nipawin also hook up for a home and home, starting tonight (MON) in Melfort.
