IMPORTANCE OF UPCOMING GAMES

BATTLEFORDS at FLIN FLON
-Big game for the North Stars, who trail the Bombers by five points and both clubs have nine games to play.  This is a classic four-pointer as being within three with eight to play sounds an awful lot better than being seven back with eight to play.   Flin Flon leads the season series 3-2.

HUMBOLDT AT MELFORT
-Not a big game for the Broncos as a first place finish is a foregone conclusion.  The Mustangs have three games in hand on La Ronge and lead the Ice Wolves by a point for the final playoff spot in the North Division.  They don’t want to blow these ‘free’ opportunities to put some breathing room between themselves and the Wolves.

MELVILLE at NOTRE DAME
-A Sherwood Division semi-final preview.  Barring a catastrophe for Melville, they will have home ice advantage in the series; but still need to ensure they play well in Wilcox.  The Hounds may be the toughest team to play against, physically, in the SJHL and you can bet they’ll use that to their advantage in this game as they’ll want to fire a warning shot to the Mils that winning games won’t come without a price on their bodies.

NIPAWIN at WEYBURN
-The Hawks are in control now for second place in the North Division, while the Red Wings really need to win seven of their last ten to have any kind of chance to make the playoffs.  The Hawks weren’t at their best last night in Estevan; but got great goaltending from Jordan Liem, who is in line to make his third straight start.
