Goals for KidSport Half-way There! Goals for KidSport - presented by your local SaskEnergy Network Members - has hit the half way mark of the 2016-2017 SJHL season and it has been a very exciting and entertaining few months. We can confirm that, to date, 546 goals have been scored and we’re more than half-way to our target of 1000 goals. The race for the KidSport Cup continues and we are anticipating who will score the 1000th goal – ensuring that $20,000 will be raised for KidSport this season. Let’s take a quick look at three stars for the first half of the season: 3rd Star – SJHL Fans who have supported the local KidSport raffles and Chuck a Puck fundraisers during game nights. Three game nights in have raised over $1500; 2nd Star – your local SaskEnergy Network Members, who have jumped on board to either match the game night goal donations OR who have committed to providing additional dollars per home goal for the entire season. A huge shout out to Economy Plumbing & Heating (Melville), Goodheart Plumbing, Heating & Electrical (Kindersley), Main Plumbing & Heating (Melfort), and Abben Heating & Plumbing (La Ronge) who have committed to an additional $5 per home game goal scored by their local team. This adds up to $1090 so far. 1st Star – All the players who support KidSport by sporting yellow stick tape and laces and by scoring the goals! Battlefords & Melfort lead the way at the half-way mark with 60 goals. They are followed closely by Flin Flon with 58 goals and Humboldt with 52 goals. With this pace, there is no doubt that we will reach our 1000 goal target.
Next game night is December 9 with the Battlefords North Stars! To follow the journey, like the Goals for KidSport Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GoalsforKidSportSK) and stay up to date with all the fundraising!
