Playoff Format

* For the purpose of determining regular season standings, see SJHL Constitution Article 21.2 at the bottom of this page*

Teams that placed 11-12 in regular season standings are eliminated from further play.

1st Round of Playoffs (Wild Card Series)
Teams 7-8-9-10 will meet in the 1st round of playoffs. This round is a best of 5 series.
Team 7 vs 10
Team 8 vs 9
Winners of the 1st round of playoffs move onto the 2nd round.

2nd Round of Playoffs (Quarter Finals)
The 3 division winners will be seeded 1-2-3.
The remaining 5 teams will be seeded 4-5-6-7-8 based on regular season standings as outlined by SJHL Constitution Article 21.2.
This round is a best of 7 series.
***Note: Division winners are only seeded 1-2-3 for the 2nd round of playoffs. All subsequent rounds will be seeded based on standings as outlined by SJHL Constitution Article 21.2.
Team 1 vs 8
Team 2 vs 7
Team 3 vs 6
Team 4 vs 5
Winners of the 2nd round of playoffs move onto the 3rd round.

3rd Round of Playoffs (Semi-Finals)
All teams will be seeded based on regular season standings as outlined in SJHL Constitution Article 21.2.
This round is a best of 7 series.
Team 1 vs 4
Team 2 vs 3
Winners of the 3rd round of playoffs move onto the 4th round.

4th Round of Playoffs (Canalta Cup Finals)
Teams will be seeded based on regular season standings as outlined in SJHL Constitution Article 21.2.
This round is a best of 7 series.

SJHL Constitution Article 21.2. - Determination of Regular Season Standings
‚ÄčThe Clubs having the greater number of points shall be awarded the higher position. In the event that two or more Clubs are tied with the same number of points, then the higher position shall be awarded to the Club having won the greater number of games against each other, (or accumulated the greater number of points against each other throughout the regular season, due to games being determined by shootout wins). If the tie is still not broken, then the team with the greater number of wins shall be awarded the higher position. Should the clubs be tied in all the foregoing departments, then the higher position shall be awarded to the Club having the best goals against average.
