Asham-Moroz Scores Twice, Bruins Down Red Wings Again

For the second time in less than a week, the Estevan Bruins beat the Weyburn Red Wings in convincing fashion.

The Bruins scored 5 unanswered goals to down the Red Wings 5-1 at Affinity Place Friday night to kick off a 5-game homestand.

Griffin Asham-Moroz led the charge for the Bruins, scoring a pair of goals including a power play marker in the third.

Olivier Pouliot, Alex Von Sprecken, and Keagon Little all scored their first goals of the season for Estevan.

Weyburn star Braden Birnie had the only goal of the night for the Red Wings, his third of the season.

Goaltender Boston Bilous picked up his fourth win of the season, making 21 saves.

With the win the Bruins improve to 4-2 on the season.

They’ll now enjoy a week off before hosting Melfort next Friday night.
