MELFORT, SK – The defending champions showed their pedigree in Game 2 Sunday.

Logan Belton scored twice, including the game winner at the 3:17 mark of the second period on a one-timer on a five-on-three, and the Melfort Mustangs evened the Canterra Seeds Cup Final at one with a 3-0 victory.

His second seven minutes later was into an empty net when he converted a pretty passing play between Zac Somers, Nick Andrusiak, and Belton to make it 2-0.

Bo Eisner put the game on ice on a screened point shot 2:04 into the third period.

Kristian Coombs made 22 stops for his second shutout of the season, while Weyburn’s Angelo Zol was solid while making 31 saves in defeat.
