Flin Flon Bombers Alternate Captain Ethan Mercer will continue his hockey career at MacEwan University (U-Sports) in Edmonton, Alberta this fall.
Mercer was acquired from the Olds Grizzly’s of the AJHL after spending the previous season with the eventual national champions, Brooks Bandits. In 28 games in the maroon and white, Ethan produced 5 goals and 10 assists. In January, Mercer would be named an alternate captain and had a monster playoffs for the Bombers with 7 goals in 16 games. At the conclusion of the season, Ethan would be named the teams “Most Dedicated Player”.
The MacEwan Griffins currently compete in the Canada West Conference and finished the 2022-2023 season with a 9-18-1 record.
Mercer is the sixth Bomber to receive a scholarship this season.
