Bombers Back In It

Brett Wieschorster scored on a powerplay with 58 seconds left in regulation giving the Flin Flon Bombers a 4-3 win over the Estevan Bruins in Game 3 of the SJHL Final on Tuesday, cutting the Bruins’ lead in the Best of Seven down to 2-1.

The Bombers led 3-1 late in the second period before the Bruins tied things up.  Wieschorster, Jaeden Mercier, Drew Kuzma and Zak Smith all had a goal and an assist for the Bombers, and Cal Schell made 31/34 saves.

Olivier Pouliot, Mark Rumsey and Kade Runke did the scoring for the Bruins.  Boston Bilous made 24/28 saves in the loss, his, and the Bruins’ first loss since Game 1 of Round 1 against Notre Dame back on March 18th.  The two teams go right back at in Wednesday in Flin Flon, and Tuesday’s result means two busses will be heading back to Estevan for Game 5 on Saturday.
