REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has announced a multi-part transaction between the Humboldt Broncos and the Flin Flon Bombers, involving players, draft selections, development fees, and future considerations.
As part of the transaction, the Flin Flon Bombers have acquired goaltender Charlie Tritt (20, Vancouver, BC), defenceman Ryder Knutson (21, Swift Current, SK), and forward Connor Miller (19, Lipton, SK), along with Humboldt’s 2010-born third- and fifth-round selections in the 2026 SJHL Draft.
Tritt arrives in Flin Flon following a strong showing with the Broncos this season, where he posted a 2.14 goals-against average, .940 save percentage, and three shutouts in 20 appearances. The 20-year-old netminder has also logged junior experience in the PIJHL, BCHL, and NAHL, providing the Bombers with a goaltender who has competed at multiple levels.
Knutson, who recently turned 21, brings veteran experience to the Bombers’ defence group. The Swift Current, SK product recorded 16 points (4G, 12A) in 24 games with Humboldt this season and has spent parts of three SJHL campaigns with the Broncos. Known for his physical presence and versatility, Knutson adds depth and leadership on the back end.
Miller joins Flin Flon amid a breakout season offensively. The 19-year-old from Lipton, SK has registered 29 points (15G, 14A) in 27 games in 2025-26 and has shown steady year-over-year growth since joining the Broncos. Miller previously appeared in 53 games for Humboldt in 2023-24, collecting 30 points, before matching that total again in 2024-25.
Miller played for Bombers’ head coach and general manager Mike Reagan at the 2024 Junior A World Challenge with Team Canada West.
In exchange, the Humboldt Broncos receive significant future assets, including Flin Flon’s 2010-born first-round selection and 2011-born second-round selection in the 2026 SJHL Draft. Humboldt also acquires two player development fees, future considerations, and two players to be named by October 1, 2026.
Other deals on Jan. 8 featured the Melfort Mustangs’ acquisition of defenceman Darren Hunt from the Swan Valley Stampeders, in exchange for 2006-born forward Reis Nyland.
Hunt, 19, of Hartney, MB, has accumulated 44 points over 131 Manitoba Junior Hockey League contests, all with the Stampeders.
The Warman Wolverines also dealt 2006-born defenceman Wylie Smith to the Swan Valley Stampeders, in exchange for a Player Development Fee.
