BOMBERS, MUSTANGS WIN SUNDAY

By Craig Stein

Flin Flon’s Zac Robidoux faced just 13 shots in Melville on Sunday, but he stopped them all as the Bombers blanked the Millionaires 4-0, sweeping a 3-in-3 road trip to Nipawin, Humboldt and Melville, while winning their fourth straight and improving to 13-7-2-2.

That’s Robidoux’s second shutout this season and seventh in the last year and a half.

Eric Sinclair and Kristian St. Onge both had a goal and an assist while Cory Thomas and Greyson Reitmeier also scored.

Brandon Wells made 34/38 saves in goal for the Millionaires (11-11-1-0).

Meanwhile in Melfort, the Mustangs halted the Yorkton Terriers’ winning streak at five games, picking up a 5-2 decision over the Terriers on home ice.

Miles Warkentine opened the scoring on the powerplay in the first period, and finished it with a late empty netter, potting his 7th and 8th goals of the season.  Reed Gunville and Matthew Hermary would each score their first SJHL goals about three minutes apart in the second period, and Tanner Zentner (1g-1a) added a goal in the third, and Evan Plotnik stopped 23/25 shots for the Mustangs (9-11-1-3).

Tyler Baier and Jordan Ross did the scoring for the Terriers (10-11-3-0).
