The Flin Flon Bombers are extremely proud to announce that defensemen Pierce Yakimchuk has officially committed to join the Golden Bears at the University of Alberta.
Yakimchuk, ‘05, has bled Maroon for the past three seasons and has steadily improved each and every season. Pierce has amassed 123 games over that span with 11 goals and 36 assists to go with it. He has also played in 35 playoff games and notched 6 assists.
Pierce has brought, reliability, toughness, and shutdown ability from day one. A true team first player that will throw the body, block a shot and run through a wall if you needed him to.
HC/GM Mike Reagan commented: “We are very happy for Yak, he’s worked extremely hard over the last 3 years for this opportunity. His commitment to getting better daily has paid off and has raised the standard for all of our guys to meet over his time as a Bomber. Yak is an exceptional team first guy and will be a great addition for the U of A.”
Pierce also joins his brother Aiden with the program as well!
