The Humboldt Broncos are pleased to announce the acquisition of 2004-born forward Gabriel Filion from the Estevan Bruins in exchange for future considerations.

Filion, a Montreal, QC native, will compete in his 3rd season in the SJHL during the 2024-25 campaign. During his tenure in Estevan, Filion amounted 42 points (20g-22a) in 82 games, to go along with 69 PIMs.

“We are ecstatic to add a player with Gabriel’s experience. He’s as elite of a skater as you’ll find in this league and plays the style of game that we love here in Humboldt. He plays all three forward positions very well. We feel, in his final year of junior hockey, that he can be a really impressive offensive threat that impacts the game on a nightly basis,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney.

A veteran of 152 Jr. A games, Filion has spent time in the CCHL with the Rockland Nationals and AJHL with the Grand Prairie Storm, before being acquired midway through the 2022/23 season by Estevan.

The Humboldt Broncos and the City of Humboldt would like to welcome Gabriel and his family to the community and organization.
