BRONCOS WIN FINALE, MOVE TO 7TH

The Humboldt Broncos rested a handful of regulars for the upcoming post-season, but scored three unanswered goals as they beat the visiting Melville Millionaires 3-1 in the final game on the SJHL’s regular season schedule Tuesday night.

The win lifts the Broncos out of 8th place and into 7th, jumping past the Nipawin Hawks and into a first round playoff date with the second place Flin Flon Bombers.  Nipawin will tangle with the first place, and defending Canalta Cup Champion Battlefords North Stars.

Nathan Hannon opened the scoring for the Millionaires (16-36-2-4) with his first goal of the season, but Cade Cavallini, Braiden Koran and Reid Arnold rattled off the next three for the Broncos (28-21-7-2).  Noah Decottignies played the final two periods in goal for Humboldt, making 16/17 saves.  Berk Berkeliev made 29/32 saves for Melville.
