REGINA, SK – Graham Brown was brilliant in making 45 stops, and Everett Merchant scored 3:13 into overtime to help the La Ronge Ice Wolves edge the Humboldt Broncos 2-1 Thursday.
Ryder McKinnon had given the Wolves the early lead before Broncos’ defenceman Teigan Semchyshen tied the contest at 13:34 of the second period.
Humboldt’s Brady Holtvogt stopped 33 shots in defeat, and the road point moved the Broncos within four points of Estevan for the eighth and final playoff spot, though the Bruins have a game in hand.
The Broncos have four games remaining in the campaign.
