The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins further bolstered their blue line Tuesday, announcing the acquisition of 19-year-old defenceman, Bo Doxtator from the Nepean Raiders of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

The announcement comes just a day after the Bruins acquired Kieran Ronan from the North American Hockey League (NAHL), continuing a clear objective by the team to get bigger, meaner, and more experienced on the blue line early this season.

“Bo is a big defenceman, standing 6-foot-4, and plays a physical game,” Bruins’ Head Coach & GM, Jason Tatarnic said of the move. “When you combine his size and mobility, we feel we added a good piece on the backend. He will be entering his third year of junior hockey, so we have added some experience as well.”

Doxtator, who is from Corunna, ON., started his junior career with the Stratford Warriors of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) where he posted eight points (two goals, six assists) in 34 games as a 17-year-old during the 2022-23 season. In 46 games with Nepean, dating back to last season, the rearguard registered six points (one goal, five assists).

The Eagle Sky Estevan Bruins will return to action this Friday when the team hosts the defending champion, Melfort Mustangs for a rematch of last spring’s first round playoff matchup, at Affinity Place.

Friday’s game will available on FloHockey and for free on the Bruins’ NEW online stream on YouTube. Pregame will begin at 6:45 p.m., with puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
