The first round of the 2023 SJHL playoffs presented by UPL continued Tuesday night as all four series shifted venues for Game 3 of each first round series. A full recap of Tuesday night’s action can be found below with Director of Media Jeromy Corrigan, and highlights from each game can be found below. (Except Mustangs/Ice Wolves game due to venue change)

Flin Flon 3 Estevan 4 OT

Humboldt 3 Nipawin 4

Battlefords 3 Weyburn 0

Melfort 3 La Ronge 4 OT (No highlights available)

After some adversity following the ice issues at the Mel and the transition to the JRMCC, the Melfort Mustangs and La Ronge Ice Wolves played another close hockey game in Game 3 of their best of seven series. The teams would go back and forth all night long, and for the 2nd time in as many games the two clubs would need overtime to decide a winner. In the extra frame, it was Captain Walker Jerome of the La Ronge Ice Wolves who would net the game winner, his 2nd of the night, and secure the 4-3 win for the Ice Wolves which vaults them to a 2-1 series lead.

Game four of all four series will be played Wednesday night.
