REGINA, SK – Estevan Bruins’ defenceman Ethan Andrews has committed to the University of Alberta at Augustana for the 2026-27 ACAC campaign.
Andrews, 21, posted 41 points in 54 regular-season games this past year, finishing tied for fourth among defenceman scorers.
The Kimberley, BC native played in 148 Saskatchewan Junior League contests between 2023 and 2026. He featured for the Flin Flon Bombers, La Ronge Ice Wolves, and Notre Dame Hounds before landing with the Bruins at last season’s trade deadline.
Andrews represented the SJHL at the 2026 Viking Cup this past year, hosted by the Augustana Vikings in Camrose, AB, and scored the Gold-Medal winning goal in overtime in the tournament finale.
He also finished second in scoring among defenders at the event, posting three goals and five points in five games, and two goals and an assist in the 7-3 win over Augustana.
Andrews joins Nipawin Hawks’ forward Carter Anderson and La Ronge Ice Wolves goaltender Graham Brown as SJHLers to commit to Augustana from this past season.
Twelve Vikings who played in Team SJHL’s win at the Viking Cup were SJHL alumni.
