Bruins, North Stars swing big trade

REGINA, SK – The Battlefords North Stars have entered a new era with a new head coach, and now they hope to have their new leading man up front.

Battlefords completed a deal Wednesday that sends veteran and star forward Rylan Williams, defencemen Alex Scheck and Logan Goodwin, and future considerations to the Estevan Bruins, in exchange for the rights to elite offensive centreman Kent Moors.

Moors, 20, posted 40 points in 39 games for the Bruins in 24-25, and has played in 118 Junior A games between the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and British Columbia Hockey League.

Williams, 20, of Kyle, SK, has played in 106 SJHL games thus far, all for the North Stars, and has scored 77 points over that span.

Moors and Williams both represented the SJHL at the 2024 Western All-Star Showcase and the 2025 SJHL/MJHL Showcase.

Goodwin, 19, split last season between the Melville Millionaires and Stars, and has featured in 104 Junior A games between the Ontario Junior Hockey League and SJHL. The Penticton, BC native joined the Mils from the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes during the 23-24 campaign.

Scheck, 19, played in 30 games in his rookie junior campaign a year ago with the North Stars, notching 56 penalty minutes while playing a physical brand.
