REGINA, SK – Estevan Bruins defenceman Matthew Ronn has committed to Minot State University for the 2026-27 American Collegiate Hockey Association campaign.

Ronn, 20, scored six goals and added 27 assists in 38 regular-season games this year for the Bruins, and added two points in the Bruins’ playoff run.

He joined the Bruins in the 2022-23 season, playing 22 games before returning to U18 and his Regina Pat Canadians.

The Yorkton, SK native then spent two seasons outside of Saskatchewan, where he played for the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, and the Blackfalds Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Between Estevan, the AJHL, and the BCHL, Ronn played in 139 regular-season contests and 17 playoff games.

Minot State in North Dakota featured six SJHL alums last year, and has thus far also committed to SJHL alumni Ryley Cyca (Weyburn), Anthony McIntosh (Yorkton), and Colton Getzlaff, Ronn’s teammate in Estevan.

Yorkton native and one-time Terriers’ call-up Grady Hoffman also committed there this off-season.
