Bruins’ Williams commits to Nipissing (USports)

FLIN FLON, MB – Estevan Bruins forward Rylan Williams has committed to Nipissing University of USports for the 2025-26 Ontario University Athletics campaign.

Williams, 21, played in 148 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League regular-season games and 16 SJHL post-season contests, split between the Battlefords North Stars and Estevan Bruins over the last two campaigns.

Over that span, the Kyle, SK native posted 142 regular-season points and added three points in the playoffs.

Williams was also a member of Team SJHL’s 2026 Viking Cup Gold Medal.

This past season, his final one in the league, he scored 25 goals and added 68 points in 54 games for the Bruins, and finished fifth in SJHL scoring.

North Bay, Ontario – Nipissing Lakers Men’s Hockey is proud to announce the signing of recruit Rylan Williams. 

Williams, a native of Kyle, Saskatchewan, plays left wing. Rylan spent the 2025-26 season with the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, scoring 68 points in 54 games. 

Rylan describes his playing style as fast-paced and gritty. Williams is a 200-foot north-south forward who possesses a high hockey IQ. 

“I want to make an impact right away and be a force from day one,” Rylan said when asked about expectations for himself and the team’s performance. “I want to win, and I will do anything to help us get the job done night in and night out.” 

Rylan will be enrolling in Nipissing’s Business Administration program this fall. 

“Nipissing was the right fit for me,” Williams said when asked why the Lakers made sense for his hockey career and education future. “The team has great coaching and a team mindset of competing and battling hard on every shift. I believe my style of play fits the team perfectly. I can’t wait to get to work.”
