WINDSOR, CO. – The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that the team has signed defenseman Chase Norrish to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound blueliner recently concluded a four-year career at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he posted 67 points in 128 games with the Tigers. He also played alongside current Eagles captain Matt Garbowsky during the 2014-15 season.
The 24 year-old served as a co-captain at R.I.T. and helped lead the team to back-to-back AHA league championships in 2015 and 2016. Norrish also earned several accolades during his NCAA career, being named the AHA Defenseman of the Year in 2016, while also landing a spot on the AHA First All-Star Team and AHA All-Tournament Team.
Prior to moving to the college level, Norrish played three seasons with the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL where he would amass 84 points in 169 contests. He would help the Terriers capture back-to-back SJHL championships in 2013 and 2014 and a RBC Cup Championship in 2014. In addition, the 2013-14 campaign would see the Strongfield, Saskatchewan native lead all SJHL defensemen with 45 points, en route to being named the SJHL’s Best Defenseman.
