Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League

Chrystopher Collin

FLIN FLON BOMBERS, LW

When Chrystopher Collin made the move from Quebec to northern Manitoba late this summer it is likely a safe assumption that no one saw what he would accomplish early in his Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League career.

The 18-year-old winger from Bois De Filion, Que., after all, had not scored more than five goals in each of his last two years at the QJAAAHL and QMAAA levels, but once he was in the Flin Flon line-up the 5-foot-11, 173-pound Collin lit it up scoring six times in his first three games and posting 8-2-10 totals in his first seven contests with the Bombers.

Collin split last year with the Saint Jerome Pantheres of the QJAAAHL (junior) and the Saint Eustache Vikings of the QMAAA (midget) and in 20 games with the Pantheres he registered two goals and two assists while in 12 games with the Vikings he had three goals and five helpers.

During the 2015-16 season, as a 16-year-old, Collin played in 42 games with the Vikings and netted five goals while setting up 15 more.

After reaching the league final for the second straight season last spring, the Bombers lost six of their top seven scorers and were looking for someone to step in and be the go-to guy. It appears that Collin is ready to answer that call and he will have to continue finding the back of the net to keep Flin Flon within reach of the Melfort Mustangs, who have jumped to the early lead atop the Sherwood Division standings.
