REGINA, SK – Danton Cox notched the winner at the 14:18 mark of the third period shorthanded as the Melfort Mustangs’ two third-period goals were enough to edge the Weyburn Red Wings 4-3 Thursday.
Ashton Hutchinson had tied the game 5:52 into the final frame.
Melfort’s win streak now stands at five in a row. At the time of writing, they are eight points ahead of Flin Flon for first place in the SJHL and the Sherwood Division.
