SGEU MVP of the Month: Jaron Desnoyers, Yorkton Terriers

Desnoyers and Humboldt’s Jacob Strizzi are in a wild fight to the finish for league’s stop scorer, and the former certainly did his part in February. The Yorkton captain had points in all but one game in the month, bringing as much grit, character and effort to the game as speed and skill. What a remarkable season Jaron continues to have.
Month Stats: 10 GP, 9 G, 10 A, 19 PTS

Bourgault Forward of the Month: Hudson Cameron, La Ronge Ice Wolves

The Ice Wolves never felt they were punting on the season, even after they traded away their top scorer at the deadline, and weapons like Cameron have been a big reason. The veteran forward has helped keep La Ronge in the mix for the final playoff spot in February, a month headlined by a five-point night at Notre Dame and a three-spot in Kindersley.
Month Stats: 10 GP, 8 G, 9 A, 17 PTS

SuperU Defenceman of the Month: Ty Thornton, Melfort Mustangs

The defending Canterra Seeds Cup champs haven’t shown a minute of championship hangover all year, and quality experienced pieces like Thornton throughout the squad are the centre of it. Melfort’s captain doesn’t go chasing offence, but he is more than capable of cashing in when it comes to him, and as far as the SJHL is concerned, he is close to the most complete package there is.
Month Stats: 11 GP, 0 G, 12 A, 12 PTS

Sasktel Goalie of the Month: Justen Maric, Battlefords North Stars

It is not a perfect analysis of the situation, but Justen Maric’s health and the North Stars’ thriving in this campaign have gone hand in glove. The veteran Maric was terrific in February, more than playing his part to keep Battlefords in the range of 5-6 in the standings.
Month Stats: 8 starts, 6-2-0-0 record, 2.52 GAA, .927 SV%

IKS Media Rookie of the Month: Nick Genette, Melville Millionaires

There is no question about it now: Genette is not just one of the elite rookie goaltenders in the league; he is one of the league’s elite goaltenders. Period. Melville is on an 11-game win streak, and Genette has shared the net with Ben Laurette but at times has looked unbeatable when his number is called. Many goaltenders have found playing behind Doug Johnson’s teams fun, and Genette is one of them.
Month Stats: 5 starts, 5-0-0-0 record, 2.16 GAA, .920 SV%

Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Month: Eric Hoiness, Nipawin Hawks (from Saskatoon, Sask)

The young Hawks have enjoyed playing spoiler in February, and the now-20-year-old Hoiness is a significant reason for this. Nipawin’s first line on their roster sheet every night has been Hoiness between Mason Karakochuk and Konnor Watson. These three guys have improved as the year has passed and can all come back next year. Look out for Hoiness in 25-26, folks!
Month Stats: 13 GP, 5 G, 11 A, 16 PTS
