That it shocked many that the Bombers only reached the semifinals last year is a massive testament to the remarkable success of the program that (head coach/GM) Mike Reagan, (Head Scout) Jon Klassen, and the staff have cultivated.
Yet after three straight final appearances coming out of Covid, the taste is still bitter in Reagan’s mouth, and his drive to build this season’s Flin Flon squad into a monster is as big as ever.
He has a great base to start with, as he returns five defencemen and a stable full of forwards, as much on the belligerent, physical side as we’ve seen from any Bombers group.
With the sublime skills of Xavier Fauchon, along with Natan Meunier-Roberge on the back end, and big Natan Lalumeire and the talented Maverick Deslisle up front, this Flin Flon team will have important spots filled by Quebecers. At the same time, returnees like Joey Lies, who enters his fourth year with the club, Wyatt Stinton, and Ryder Mucha, there is also a decent-sized corps of locals to the area at the top end of the line-up for the rabid Bomber fans to root on.
Both goalies are gone from last year, so it’s a relatively open tryout for the position, with six different men getting minutes in pre-season at the time of writing.
In one of the games in the pre-season, Reagan put together Rhett Ewen with Stinton and Landon Alexander, in a line as hard-hitting and in-your-face as any the league could have this campaign.
Let’s take a look at some key numbers from the last regular season for the Bombers:

SJHL Co-Director of Media Clark Munroe sat down with Head Coach/GM Mike Reagan in the SCSA Coaches’ Show ahead of the 25/26 season and got his thoughts on the upcoming year.
