Former Bronco Perkins Selected in NHL Draft by Vancouver Canucks

Former Humboldt Bronco Matthew Perkins heard his name called Thursday during Day 2 of the NHL Entry draft as he was selected 119th overall (4th round) by the Vancouver Canucks.

Perkins, from Balgonie Saskatchewan played one season with the Humboldt Broncos in 2021-2022. However, during that one year he impressed many as he accumulated 23 goals and 36 assists in 57 games played.

This led to Perkins committing to play for the University of Minnesota-Duluth mid way through his campaign with the Broncos. (Article Here)

The 2004 Centre spent this past year in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms where he finished the season with 15 goals and 29 assists in 60 games played.
