REGINA, SK – Graham Brown made a whopping 51 saves, and Mason Bueckert notched the winner as the La Ronge Ice Wolves edged the Humboldt Broncos 2-1 at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.
The Broncos outshot the Wolves 52-23, including 23-5 in the third period. Brown is now second in the SJHL in save percentage among qualified goaltenders at .929.
In Yorkton, the Terriers got the overtime winner from Keenan Ingram in a wild Highway 10 clash, as they downed the Melville Millionaires 7-6 in the extra frame. Ingram notched four points in the win, while Raiden Zecharias added a hat trick in a losing effort for the Moneymen.
Estevan got back to its winning ways by way of a tie-breaking winner from Cody Polumbus 4:45 into the third period to hand the Bruins a much-needed 3-2 win over the Battlefords North Stars at Affinity Place.
The Melfort Mustangs rallied at home with two mid-way through the second period to take down the Kindersley Klippers 4-3. It was the defending champions’ fourth victory in a row.
Finally, the Bombers secured their fifth consecutive win, led by a four-goal first period, as they cruised over the Nipawin Hawks 5-1 in Flin Flon. Bombers’ star Carter Anderson now has goals in six straight contests.
