SASKATOON, SK – Gabriel Kaminski scored twice, and Brady Holtvogt made 47 stops as the Humboldt Broncos downed the Battlefords North Stars 4-2 Friday at the SaskTel Game of the Month.
Kaminski’s third-period tie-breaker held up as the winner, and the Broncos moved within three points of idle Estevan and the playoff line.
In Kindersley, Oliver Nottingham notched the game-winning goal at the 18:12 mark of the second period to help the Warman Wolverines edge the Klippers 4-3.
Griffin Wright made 24 stops in the victory, while Vinny Palmarin and Ethan Dundas both added two helpers for the Wolverines.
Nolan Patterson and Dru Mushumanski both notched a goal and an assist, and the Melfort Mustangs extended their league-high win streak to 10 games with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Flin Flon Bombers.
Madden Mulawka made 39 saves in the win that moved the two-time defending champions three points ahead of Melville for sixth place.
Those Millionaires eked out a point in a shootout vs. La Ronge as Ice Wolves’ forward Grayden Perozni scored in regulation and the winner in the skills competition to help them take a 2-1 victory.
Graham Brown stopped 38 shots to help interim head coach Bob Beatty pick up his first win since his return to the La Ronge bench.
Finally, in Yorkton, the Terriers got goals from seven different scorers, and three-point nights from Gabriel Courchesne and William Leonard en route to a commanding 7-2 triumph vs. the Nipawin Hawks.
Seven different Terriers had multi-point nights, and Yorkton jumped ahead of Battlefords in second place, six points behind Flin Flon.
