REGINA, SK – Luke Ridgway led the way with a goal and two assists, and the Kindersley Klippers downed the Flin Flon Bombers 4-1 on Friday.
It had been 16 games and 64 days since the Bombers were beaten in regulation, when they fell in North Battleford to the North Stars 4-2.
Brett O’Halloran made 32 saves in the Kindersley win, and the victory helped the Klippers maintain sole possession of sixth place.
In Melfort, Drew Mushumanski tied the game with 0.5 seconds remaining on the clock and then cashed home a beautiful tic-tac-toe goal in overtime to lift the Mustangs to a dramatic, come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Humboldt Broncos.
They were Mushumanski’s second and third goals of the season.
Matthew Bradley shone while making 38 stops in defeat, while Madden Mulawka stopped 24 shots in the win.
The Mustangs have now won four games in a row and have closed to within one point of the eighth and final playoff spot.
Joey Rocha made 43 stops, and Josh Sale had a goal and an assist as the Weyburn Red Wings outlasted the Melville Millionaires 5-2.
Jase McNichol and Turner McIntyre both added two helpers on the night for Weyburn.
The Wings moved within two points of idle Nipawin for fourth place.
Owen Nelson notched a goal and an assist, including the game-winner, and the Battlefords North Stars got five different goal scorers en route to a 5-1 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Grayden Perozni had the Wolves’ reply for his fourth goal in the last three games to extend his goalscoring streak to three contests in a row.
Finally, in Yorkton, the Terriers extended their win streak to eight with a dominant 7-2 win over the Warman Wolverines.
