REGINA, SK – Simon Parini scored the only shootout goal, and the Melville Millionaires held on to fifth place in the league standings with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Kindersley Klippers on Valentine’s Day.

It was the first set between the two clubs, now only three points apart.

In Nipawin, the Red Wings bounced back as Josh Karman’s first-period marker proved to be the contest’s only goal en route to a 1-0 Weyburn win vs. the Hawks.

The 21-save shutout was the third of Angelo Zol’s campaign.

The Terriers and Bruins shared nine goals in the first period at a wild one at Affinity Place in Estevan. Yet David Coyle added a second-period hat trick to cap off a four-goal, two-assist evening, and Yorkton upended Estevan 10-4 to maintain pace with Weyburn, three points ahead in third place.

Rylan Williams, Jordan Grill, and Logan Goodwin added multi-point outings as the Battlefords North Stars cruised past the Humboldt Broncos 5-1. The result meant the Stars remained even on points with Melville for fifth in the SJHL.

Finally, Anthony Piccininno’s pair in Flin Flon helped the Bombers hand the Notre Dame Hounds a 5-1 defeat. Maclean Cooney scored his first of the year in reply for the visitors.
