FRIDAY RECAP: Mils take battle of the unbeaten

REGINA, SK – The Melville Millionaires scored three times in the first and held on the rest of the way as they took the battle of the unbeaten 3-1 vs. the Melfort Mustangs at the Northern Lights Palace to cap off a wild Friday in the SJHL.

Nipawin held off a furious Bruins rally and parlayed a Carter Anderson overtime winner into its first victory as the Hawks took a 4-3 decision at Estevan’s Affinity Place.

In Kindersley, the Klippers made it four wins from five to open the season with Will Christian’s overtime winner, taking down their Nutrien Division rival Humboldt Broncos 3-2 at Inter Pipeline Arena.

The Flin Flon Bombers continued their winning ways on their southern swing, scoring four straight to rally past the new-look Weyburn Red Wings 4-2.

Finally, in Battlefords, the North Stars made it two wins in a row with a Nikita Ivashchenko third-period winner, taking down the La Ronge Ice Wolves 4-2 at the Access Communications Centre.
