REGINA, SK – Brendan Olson scored the winner 2:50 into the third period, and the Melville Millionaires notched a huge 3-1 win over their Viterra Division rival Weyburn Red Wings.
Nick Genette made 32 stops in the victory.
In Estevan, the Ice Wolves salvaged the first win of their four-game southern swing. Jacob Cossette notched the game-winner on the power play in the second period, and Logan Falk stopped 32 shots in La Ronge’s 4-1 win over the Bruins.
The No. 1-ranked Melfort Mustangs kept rolling, as they used six-straight goals in the second and third frames to rally past the Yorkton Terriers 7-3. Logan Belton earned a game-high three points for the Mustangs, while ex-Mustang David Coyle replied with three assists of his own.
Reid Arberry led the way with two goals and added a helper as the Flin Flon Bombers rolled past the Kindersley Klippers 5-1 at the Whitney Forum. New Bomber Liam Hunks contributed two assists in the win.
Finally, in the Battlefords, the Humboldt Broncos triumphed 5-3 on the strength of a four-goal third period. Jacob Strizzi’s pair of goals were central to Humboldt’s success against the North Stars.
