REGINA, SK – Rookie Sean Shiels scored his first career Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League game-winner 4:31 into the third period as the Nipawin Hawks edged the Melville Millionaires 3-2 on Halloween Friday.
Colten Scott made 25 stops for the win and improved to 4-0 in his first campaign in the league.
In Warman, the Wolverines got a pair from Riley Rich-Holden and 38 saves from Griffin Wright to upend the Melfort Mustangs 5-2 in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.
Carter Bergen’s fourth of the year, and his third since joining the Wolverines, held up as the winner.
Finally, in Yorkton, the Terriers won their third in a row, behind a Cash Lanigan hat trick, to cruise past the Battlefords North Stars 7-2.
Jye Zawatsky also added a pair as Yorkton moved up into fifth place in the league standings.
