FRIDAY RECAP: Terriers hold on to 1st, Wings extend streak

REGINA, SK – Angelo Zol stopped 41 Flin Flon shots as the Weyburn Red Wings edged the Bombers 2-1 at the Whitney Forum on a four-game Friday in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. It was the Wings’ sixth victory in a row.

Meanwhile, in Yorkton, the Terriers took the first win in this season’s Highway 10 rivalry and held on to first place in the league with a 5-1 victory over the Melville Millionaires.

Zac Somers made his season debut and added an assist for the Melfort Mustangs as they cruised to a 5-1 victory at home vs. the Kindersley Klippers.

Finally, the Ice Wolves held off a late rally by Nipawin to beat the Hawks 5-4 in La Ronge’s Mel Hegland Uniplex. The Ice Wolves went 3-for-6 on the power play in the win.
