The Battlefords North Stars ran their winning streak to seven games with a 5-2 win over the Humboldt Broncos on Friday night.

Ben Hiltz led the charge with a goal and two assists, while Jaxon Steele (1g-1a), Quintin Loon-Stewardson, Steven Kesslering and Seth Summers rounded out the scoring.  Kristian Lyon won his fourth straight start with the North Stars (39-7-2-0), making 32/34 saves.

The Stars have had the Global Ag Risk Solutions Division clinched for over a week, and they’re 17 points up on Flin Flon for top spot.

Tyson McLean and Logan Kurki did the scoring for the Broncos (21-19-6-2), who remain in seventh place three points back of Nipawin.

Riley Kohonick stopped 53 of the 54 shots he faced, and came seven minutes away from a shutout as the Notre Dame Hounds beat the Kindersley Klippers 2-1.

Jake Dale and Jackson Tillinghast provided the offense for the Hounds (17-25-3-1), while Brett Neumeier spoiled Kohonick’s shutout bid with his fifth of the season with 6:57 to play.

Steven Bacovsky made 18/20 saves in goal for the Klippers (18-22-6-1).

Daylon Mannon had two goals and an assist, and Jake Gudjonson added a goal and three helpers, powering the La Ronge Ice Wolves to a 9-2 win over Estevan.  Jordan Mish added a goal and two assists, while Logan Holm (1g-1a), Spencer Kennedy (1g-1a), Holden Knights, Chad McIlwain and Kyle Schneider also filled the net, and Liam McGarva made 40/42 saves in the win.

The win jumps the Ice Wolves (25-17-3-2) into fourth place overall.

The Bruins (21-21-3-1) have now dropped three in a row, but with Humboldt and Kindersley also losing Saturday, their status is unchanged, holding the final playoff spot, three points up on Kindersley.  Alex Von Sprecken and Cody Davis scored for Estevan.

Easton Haygarth had a hat trick for the Flin Flon Bombers as the rolled to a 7-1 win over Weyburn.

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve (1g-1a), Billy Klymchuk (1g-1a), Matt Flodell (1g-1a) and Caleb Franklin also scored, and Cal Schell picked up the win, stopping 22/23 shots for the Bombers (29-10-5-0), who continue to sit comfortably in second place.

Former Bomber, Shayde Peterson replied for the Red Wings (18-27-0-1).  Weyburn wraps up their trip Saturday in Nipawin.
