ESTEVAN, SK – Keefe Gruener scored twice, and Matt Kieper made 22 saves for his second consecutive shutout as the Flin Flon Bombers blanked the Estevan Bruins 4-0 Wednesday at Affinity Place.
It was Drew Kocur’s debut behind the bench for the Bruins after taking over for the departed Jason Tatarnic.
Kieper has not allowed a goal now in just under 123 minutes.
The Bombers’ streak of games unbeaten in regulation now sits at 23 in a row, which includes 21 victories, an overtime loss and a shootout loss.
The SJHL record of games unbeaten is 30 by the 1981-82 Prince Albert Raiders.
