HAWKS ALONE IN THIRD

The Nipawin Hawks moved back into sole possession of third place Thursday, with a 3-1 win in Notre Dame, capping their road trip with two wins and a loss.

That puts the Hawks (28-19-3-0) two points up on La Ronge for third place in the overall standings.

Ross Hawryluk made 27 saves on 28 Notre Dame shots to pick up the win.  Jeremy Bisson led the way with a goal and an assist, while Caden Benson opened the scoring early in the second period, and Brodie Girod added a short-handed marker with a minute left in the game to salt it away.

Riley Kohonick did his part in goal for the Hounds (17-26-3-2), making 36/38 stops.  Defenseman Hardy Wagner got them on the board in period two.  The Hounds are still 11 points back of Estevan for a playoff spot with 10 games to go.
