The Nipawin Hawks returned to the ice and made a statement Wednesday night as they found the back of the net early and often in a 7-3 win over the Kindersley Klippers.

Alex Bernauer led the charge for the Hawks, finding the back of the net three times and adding two assists in the win.

With the victory, the Hawks move two points clear of the Kindersley Klippers for 5th place in the SJHL standings and now own a 15-16-0-2 record.

They will look to build off this victory Friday when they travel to Flin Flon to take on the first place Bombers.

For Kindersley, the loss drops them to 13-16-2-2 on the year and they remain two points up on Weyburn and Estevan for 6th place.
