HOUNDS’ DAWSON COMMITS TO NCAA DI AIR FORCE ACADEMY

Notre Dame Hounds forward Will Dawson has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey with Air Force Academy starting in 2024-2025.

A 2003-born forward, Dawson hails from Traverse City, MI, and joined the Hounds before the 2021-22 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League campaign Traverse City Central High School in his hometown.

“Will Dawson’s commitment to Air Force Academy is a true testament to his character as a person,” said Brett Pilkington, the Hounds’ Junior A head coach and General Manager.

“He is a true leader and a tremendous hockey player. Air Force has received a top-notch human being, from a great family.”

As a rookie he posted 15 goals and added 32 assists in 62 regular and post-season contests a year ago, and has start this year on fire, with seven goals and 10 points through 10 games.

He was also named assistant captain in the pre-season, alongside fellow forward Dane Probe, and defenceman Sam Kroon.

Dawson becomes the second NCAA Division I commit on the current ND roster, joining captain and defenceman Jaryd Sych, who committed to Mercyhurst University early last season.

The Michigander is expected to join Air Force for the 2024-2025 Atlantic Hockey campaign.
