DAWE & DUPERREAULT LEAD THE CHARGE IN GAME 3

The home team was victorious again in the Notre Dame – Melfort Wild Card Series as the Hounds beat the Mustangs 4-1 on Monday, to take a 2-1 series lead in their Best of Five.

Adam Dawe and Ben Duperreault, the Hounds’ top two point getters from the regular season, combined to put up seven points, as Dawe was in on every goal, scoring twice setting up the other two.  Duperreault had a goal and two assists, James Piller also scored and Chaz Smedsrud added two helpers.

Benjamin Patt picked up the win, making 23/24 saves.

Tyler Heidt provided the Mustangs’ only goal, which tied the game 1-1 late in the first period.

Game 4 goes Tuesday in Melfort, with the Mustangs needing win to stay alive.  A Hounds’ victory would send them to a Quarter-Final date with the Flin Flon Bombers, and if that happens, Weyburn would be on their way to Battlefords to take on the Stars.
