HUMBOLDT BRONCOS

In light of April’s tragic bus crash, the Broncos are turning over the entire roster, except for forwards Brayden Camrud and Derek Patter.  “We are looking for a lot of leadership and guidance from both of these players,” says assistant coach Scott Barney. Camrud had 16-goals and 26-assists in 57-games; while Patter contributed 11-goals and 14-assists in 52-games and is said to be embracing the challenge of the upcoming year head-on.

OTHER PLAYERS TO WATCH:

1999 G Dane Dow (Rivercourse  AB) posted a 2.94-GAA and .893-SPCT with Drumheller last year and he’s going to get first dibs on the lion’s share of the work between the pipes.

1998 F Michael Clarke (Medicine Hat AB) should be one of the top players in the league as he brings over 16-goals and 29-assists in 47-games from the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL.
1998 D Mark Edmands (Regina SK) Veteran defenseman was stuck in the numbers game in Estevan, so he was picked up by the Broncos last week.  55-3-17-20.

1998 D Josh Patrician (Calgary AB) A preseason addition from Kindersley, where he compiled 2-goals and 12-assists in 23-games.

2000 F Luke Spadafora (Calgary AB) has a chance to make an impact as a rookie after 12-goals and 20-assists in 35-games with the Calgary North Stars Midget AAA program.

2000 D Chase Felgueiras (Calgary AB) played with Olds AJHL as a 17-year-old (45-2-6-8) and has good size at 6’2”.  He just needs to fill out more physically. The Broncos will be asking him to jump into the rush and expand his offensive game.

2002 D Chase Lacombe (Moose Jaw SK) looks to be an underaged player with a legit chance to stick and develop into a prominent blueliner.  He had 1-goal and 1-assist in 42-games with the Midget AAA Generals.

1998 F Owen Guenter (Dewinton AB) brings two full years of Junior ‘A’ experience to Humboldt as he comes via Olds, where he had 10-goals and 23-assists in 60-games.

2001 F Zach McIntyre (Rhein SK) put up a point per game with Yorkton Midget AAA (40-18-22-40) and was pushing for ice time down the stretch last year with the Broncos.

2000 F Mitchell Girolami (Humboldt SK) local product who was on the taxi squad come playoff time last season and also played six games during the regular season.  He was 41-7-10-17 at Beardy’s Midget AAA.
