The Humboldt Broncos are proud to announce that they have come to terms on a 3 year contract with Scott Barney officially putting an end to the interim portion of the role.
Barney was hired as an Assistant Coach to start the 2018/19 hockey season. On December 28, 2018 he was appointed the interim Head Coach & GM and had the Broncos competing at or near the top of the league through to the end of the season. These efforts earned the Broncos a quarter final berth into the playoffs.
President, Jamie Brockman had this to say about the signing, “We are very proud to have Scott signed to lead our Organization for the next 3 seasons. He demonstrated a real passion and humility that we really liked. On top of that, he is simply a great person. We are excited to see what Scott can do for our Organization.”
“I’d like to than the Humboldt Broncos Organization for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I am ready and eager to for the challenge ahead to work with the club. I look forward to moving my family to the Community and starting this new chapter in our lives,” said Barney.
