Ice Wolves Hire Assistant Coach

By La Ronge Ice Wolves

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to welcome Darren Martens to their coaching staff.

The Mossbank, SK native brings an extensive coaching and playing resume to the Ice Wolves. A graduate of the SJHL, Martens went on to play in the CIS, UHL, ECHL, and 6 seasons in Germany. At the completion of his playing career, Darren transitioned into coaching. He has coached all levels of hockey, from Bantam to Jr. B, and also spent two seasons with the Briercrest Clippers of the ACAC.

Darren has his Hockey Canada High Performance 1 coaching certification and is a Can Power certified Power Skating Instructor. His insight and experience as a coach, former player, and power skating instructor makes Darren a great addition to the Ice Wolves organization.

Darren will join current Ice Wolves Head Coach Evan Vossen and Assistant Coach Terry Hunt behind the bench.

The Ice Wolves would like to welcome Darren and his fiance, Sacha, to the organization and to the community.
