JOB OPENING: Hawks seeking assistant coach

The Nipawin Hawks of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. This is a full-time, seasonal position within a competitive Junior A environment, offering hands-on experience in coaching, recruiting, and team operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with practices, games, and overall team operations
  • Support recruiting, player evaluation, and development
  • Contribute to practice planning and game preparation
  • Lead video analysis and performance tracking
  • Work with players on individual skills and progression
  • Assist in advancing players to collegiate/higher levels
  • Coordinate travel logistics (meals, accommodations)
  • Uphold professionalism within the team and community

Expectations & Qualifications

  • Attend all practices, games, and team functions
  • Maintain a professional, team-first approach
  • Junior/collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of systems, special teams, and game strategy
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
