REGINA, SK – Mason Karakochuk scored twice and added two helpers, and Eric Hoiness also notched a four-point night as the Nipawin Hawks cruised past the La Ronge Ice Wolves 8-1 in the lone game Wednesday.

Karakochuk’s current league-high point streak is at eight games, with 10 goals and 17 points over that span.

Hoiness has seven points in his last three games, and has found the scoresheet in 15 of his last 18 contests.

The win found Nipawin alone in fourth place, two points behind No. 3 Yorkton and two points ahead of No. 5 Weyburn.

The Hawks became the fourth team in the league this year to reach the 30-win mark, up 13 wins and 22 points from last season, with eight games remaining in the regular season.

Gage Roberts made 29 stops to become the third goaltender in the league this year to win 20 games. He sits second among qualified goaltenders in save percentage at .920.
