The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is entering 2025, and some significant dates are coming up very soon.

Trade/Roster Deadlines
The Canadian Junior Hockey League-wide transaction freeze will thaw on Jan. 1. Teams will have until Jan. 10 at 5:00 p.m. Saskatchewan Time to make changes and reduce their rosters to 25 carded players.
No trades will then be allowed to be completed until June 1, 2025, though teams may add eligible free agents until Feb. 10, when rosters will be totally frozen ahead of the post-season.
2025 SJHL/MJHL Showcase
Also coming soon will be the 2025 SJHL/MJHL Showcase, which will take place Jan. 27-29, 2025, at the Seven Oaks Sports Complex in Winnipeg, MB. This will be the seventh iteration of the event, which began during the 2017-18 campaign.
Six teams will do battle at that event, three all-star clubs from each of the SJHL and MJHL.
One team for each league will consist of players 18 and under, while the other two will consist of players 20 and under. The event’s rosters will be announced in the coming weeks.
SaskTel Games of the Month
There will be three more Sasktel Games of the Month in 2025 after the first was completed in Nipawin on Dec. 20, 2024.
Those games, also on SaskTel TV Local and streamed on SaskTel Max Channels 48 and 348, will come as follows:

Rory McGouran, Clark Munroe, and Jamie Neugebauer will be back for the twice-weekly league shows!
The first SJHL Weekly show of 2025 will air on Jan. 6 at 1:30 p.m. Saskatchewan Time. It will be filmed and shown live from the IKS Media studios in Regina.
The SJHL Insider podcast will follow on Jan. 9. Jamie and Clark will break down the previous week’s action and look ahead to the Trade Deadline!
