Brayden Klimosko will be in familiar, yet unfamiliar territory when the 2018-2019 season kicks off this September.

Klimosko was named Head Coach & GM of the Battlefords North Stars on Tuesday, and while he’s no stranger to the SJHL, he’s never been in the league with an organization other than the Humboldt Broncos.

The 30-year-old is a Humboldt product who came up through the ‘AA’ Midget system to join the SJHL’s Broncos for three full seasons, winning league championships in 2007 and 2008, adding an Anavet Cup and RBC Cup in the 2007-2008 season under Head Coach/GM Dean Brockman.

Klimosko wasn’t far removed from his playing days when he joined Brockman’s staff as an Assistant Coach in 2013, and also served in the same role under Ryan Smith and Darcy Haugan for one year each.  Last season, Klimosko headed west to Alberta where he was an Assistant Coach with former North Stars’ Coach/GM Kevin Hasselberg for the AJHL’s Drumheller Dragons.

In 157 career games, Klimosko put up 26-goals and 85-points over three season in Humboldt.
