KLIPPERS CONTINUE WIN STREAK WEDNESDAY

By Craig Stein

A 600+ kilometre stretch between Tuesday’s game and Wednesday’s didn’t stop the Kindersley Klippers from running their winning streak to five games, with a 3-2 shootout victory in Notre Dame.

The Klippers were coming off a win in La Ronge 24 hours earlier.

The Hounds (13-16-2-4) led the game twice, thanks to a first period goal from Kyle Robinson and a second period marker from Conor MacLean.  Josh Fletcher answered both, scoring twice for the Klippers (19-8-2-1).  Fletcher missed his shootout attempt, as Ty Enns scored the shootout winner.

Zach Johnson earned the win making 32/34 saves and 3/3 in the shootout.  Notre Dame’s Riley Kohonick made 39/41 saves through regulation and overtime.

The Klippers have a much shorter travel day Thursday as they’ll wrap the gruelling 3-in-3 in Weyburn, looking to sweep the trip and run their streak to six.

One other Thursday matchup has Battlefords on the road in La Ronge.
