The Kindersley Klippers announced on Wednesday morning that defenceman Jacob Dennis has committed to Red Deer Polytechnic of the ACAC for the upcoming season where he will play with some familiar faces.

Dennis played 126 games with the Klippers, 132 including playoffs, across his two years in Kindersley.

He joined the team halfway through 2023-24 and played 34 games after starting the season with the Blackfalds Bulldogs of the AJHL. Dennis then played 39 games in his first full season in Kindersley, setting up a 53-game campaign this year where he was one of the Klippers most reliable defenders, getting a mention on the underrated players segment of SJHL Weekly earlier this season.

Dennis will be playing with a few former teammates in Red Deer. Forwards Shayne Tibbles and Mason Bueckert were teamates of Dennis for the Klippers first round playoff exit in 2024-25, and while they never crossed paths, he will be part of a defensive core featuring another former Klipper Nathan Degraves, Kindersley native and SJHL alum Carter Cormier on Red Deer as well.

Dennis’ decision follows news on Tuesday that defenseman Russ Demo committed to the University of Calgary. Read more on Demo above and expect more Klippers commitment news as the offseason continues.
